Deposit / PreAuthorisation

We will require a deposit of 100€ on all rentals. The deposit can be taken by cash or a credit/debit card in the form of a pre-authoristation, A pre-authorisation is the method by which a deposit amount is blocked rather than transacted as a sale. The money must be available in the account but will not leave it. The amount will not be available to the account holder until released by their bank. The period until the funds are released is usually between 5 and 15 days but can be longer depending on the type of card and country of issue. This deposit is only a return of vehicle deposit, it does not act as the full excess cover, for any damage caused to any of the vehicles during the rental period the renter will be liable to the costs of that particular repair, the maximum charged is 300€ (our full excess charge)

Fuel

Vehicles are supplied on a like for like basis meaning the vehicle should be returned with the same level of fuel supplied. The level of fuel supplied is not guaranteed but will normally be 1/4 a tank. Fuel is at the hirers expense. Hirers are recommended to return the car with the same fuel to avoid charges.

 

Vehicle condition and Other Information.

Condition: Vehicles must be returned to the location/drop off point in the same condition as when it was picked up/delivered. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the vehicle is thoroughly checked prior to taking custody of the vehicle.
The client accepts responsibility for taking due care and attention of the vehicle. Failure to do so and loss or damage to the interior of the vehicle is deemed negligent and nullifies the insurance, the excess and any waivers taken. The client becomes responsible for all costs incurred.

Whilst in charge of the vehicle the client accepts responsibility for maintaining the roadworthiness of the vehicle and agrees to take remedial action to avoid unnecessary cost/damage. This will include maintaining oil levels, tire pressures and other common sense actions to maintain the vehicle. Costs will generally be covered if a receipt is provided.

Normal wear and tear is acceptable however excessive staining/damage (internal and external) will be charged for at our valet rates (for cleaning) and at the prevailing rate for damage repair.

Please be aware smoking is not permitted in the interior of the vehicle. We suggest that animals are not transported or contained in our vehicle.  A valeting fee may be applied to rectify any soiling due to smoking or animal transportation.

Early Returns/Unused Rental Days

No refunds (partial or full) will be given for charges ended early.

 

Travel Restrictions

Cross border is not permitted. International travel without notice and written permission by Magnum Rent a car is forbidden and then the insurance deemed void.

Roadside Assistance

Breakdown cover is included in our rates. Relevant contact details and roadside assistance procedures will be given prior to the commencement of the hire. Dependant on the circumstances we reserve the right not to provide a replacement vehicle.

Lost Keys

Magnum Rent a Car will charge if keys are lost or damaged. Please note that if a vehicle is stolen and keys are not returned to the rental location, the hirer will be deemed negligent and insurance is deemed void. Lost keys are deemed as negligence and are not covered under the insurance excess. Drivers will be liable for all costs relating to recovery, loss of use and repair.

Vehicle Group/Model

Reservations are confirmed for a group and not a particular model unless shown otherwise. We regret we are unable to guarantee a particular make/model or fuel type of vehicle unless a guaranteed model group has been booked. The vehicle shown on any documentation is for guidance only and may be substituted with an alternative, similar or upgraded vehicle at our discretion.
Model groups described as “or similar” are not guaranteed, only model groups described as “make model guaranteed” are guaranteed model groups.

 

Rental Extensions & Amendments

Please note that it may not always be possible for the hiring branch to extend the hire. Where the branch agrees to extend the hire, the rental will be charged at the prevailing rate which may be higher or lower than the original booking rate.

If renter wants to prolong the rental period of vehicle, he has to notify to the local office in writing at least 24 hours before the end of the period to receive the respective written approval. If he fails to do so he will have both civil and penal liability for illegal use and possession of vehicle.

Reservation amendments must be requested in writing by email at least 24 hours prior to the start of your rental. Please note that amendment request is not assured.

Driving License Requirements

A full license held for minimum of 2 years with no major endorsements. UK & EU license holders need to present the photocard.

If your driver’s licence is not in the Roman alphabet (i.e. if it is in Arabic, Russian or Chinese) you are required to bring an International Driving Permit and your domestic licence. For driving licences from countries not part of the international driving licence treaty, an official translation of the licence must be presented with the original licence.

Driver Age & Restrictions

The minimum age for our standard rates is 25 years old, The maximum age is 80. Drivers under 25 can be accepted at a premium rate, contact us for more details
